HAMILTON STOCK SALE.
HAMILTON, Wednesday. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report : — At Frankton sale yesterday there was a smaller yayding throughout. Sheep : A short entry met with f air competition, with prices for ewe andwether mutton on a par with last week's quotations. Fat lambs were slightly easier. Cattle: A smaller yarding of ox beef with prices firm- at late rates. Cow and heifer beef came forward in small numbers, the quality being superior to late yardings, and quotations improved on last week's rates. A truck of young cows and heifers on account of Mr. R. F. Hall, Walton, averaged £4/17/-, store and boner cows remained unchanged with an improved demand for yearling Jersey heifers. Pigs: There was a small yarding of fat pigs, no baconers being penned. Values for porkers remained on a par with last week's rates, while stores and weaners sold briskly at increased prices. Quotations: Prime fat wethers, 13/3 to 13/11; medium fat wethers, 12/- to 12/6; light 9/6 to 11/3; prime fat ewes, 8/- to 8/3; light, 4/2 to 5/6; heavy fat lambs, 10/6 to 11/4; light, 8/- to 9/-; runners, £2/9/- to £2/18/-; weaners, 15/- to 21/-; medium fat steers, £4/17/6 to £5/12/6; light, £3/5/- to £4/2/6; prime heavy fat cows, £4/18/- to £5/9/-; prime 'heavy fat heifers, £4/12*/- to £5/3/-; medium fat cows, £4/5/- to £4/15/-; light, £3/17/6 to £2/9/-; store cows, 16/- to 21/-; boners, 8/- to 14/-; sound young empty Jersey cows, 15/- to 25/-; good quality yearling Jersey heifers, 32/6 to £2/5/-; Jersey and Jersey cross heifers, 15/- to 22/6; choppers, £1 to 30/-; heavy porkers, 28/to 30/-; medium porkers, 24/- to 27/-; light, 18/- to 22/-; stores, 16/to 18/-; slips, 14/- to 16/-; weaners, 8/6 to 12/-; Tara, sows in pig, up to £4/4/-.
