STERN MEASURES TO CHECK ROBBERY WITH VIOLENCE

Rec. July 12, 7.0 p.m. LONDON, Tuesday. Judges are increasingly ordering the cat for robbery and violence. Three men were sentenced at the Winchester Assizes to five, four and three years respectively and 15 strokes each with the cat for robbery of £62,347 in May last. At Old Bailey, twp men were tried in connection with an attack on a eashier at Stratford and were ordered 12 strokes of the cat in addition to a term of imprisonment.
