DALGETY AND CO. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held a most success.ful clearance; sale at Waimana on account of Mr. .Gilbert Kirkbride, when his" complete dairy herd of 78 cows and heifers was disposed of at very satisfaetory prices. The cattle eame forward in splendid condition. Good quality Jersey cows, close to profit, were ke'enly sought and aroused spirited bidding from n large attendance of buyers, Later calvers also sold at full market rates, a feature of the sale being ra consistent demand throughout. The top price realised for early calvirig Jersey cows was £12 2s 6d. Purchases were made by Mr. S. D. Russell, of Rotorua. Others brought from £9 2s "6d to and from ££7 to £8 10s. Later calvers £5 12s 6d-to £6; springing heifers close to profit, £6 to £8 7s 6d. Later calvers, £4 to £5 15s. The herd of 54 cows averaged the satisfaetory price of £6 8s 9d, and the •springing heifers £5 10s 5di ■"
