FARMERS SHOULD ASSIST IN REHABILITATION POLICY. WELLINGTON, Thursday. "We have a constitutional Government in power with a clearly defined policy aiming at getting down costs, offering relief to the primary producer (although not all the relief : we would like), and endeavouring i to provide such assistance to indus- | try as its limited means will allow. I think we should assure the Government that we are conscious of its difficulties and are not going to embarrass it," said the president, Mr. W. J. Polson, M.P., at the annnal conference of the New Zealand Farmers' Union to-day. "I think we should go further and show our rulers that we- have no sympathy with socialists and eommunistic utterances, and that the farmers of this Dominion feel that they should strongly dissociate themselves from any such opinions, being satisfied that such policies can offer nothing but complete disaster to them and their industry," added Mr. Polson. 7
