Rec. July 8, 8.0 p.m. SUVA, Friday. At a meeting of the banana shippers and producers this axternoon, Mr. Barnes, Director of Agriculture, announced that the export of bananas to New Zealand will be restricted to 12,000 cases, mainly from Tonga and Fiji, th'e latter's proportion being 8,000 cases. The shippers vigorously protested that all Fiji bananas should be confined to Auckland, unless a special license was obtained from the Governor, the southern ports being supplled from Samoa and Tonga.
