OBITUARY

Mrs. L. Fergusson, widow of the late Police Sergeant Fergusson, who died in Auckland on Monday last, was buried at Rotorua on Wednesday. Mrs. Fergusson, who came to Opotiki with her husband in 1912, remained here for several years after the death of her husband, but went to Auckland about two years ago, Where she lived up to the time of her death. Word was received in Opotiki on Wednesday last that Mr. John Forbes had passed away at Te Awamutu. Mr. Forbes, who was a very old resident of the this district, originally came to Opotiki as a boy, with his patents from Tauranga. As a young man he was a keen athlete, and was a bugler in the old militia here. In later years he became a f oundation and life member of the Citizens' Bowling Club. »- —
