CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. The return of Gordon Innes, a member of the Sydenham Rugby Club's senior team, who is with the All Black side in Australia, will be required before three charges of breaches of the Licensing Act against the licensee of the Club Hotel can be proceeded with. The evidence of Innes is required by the defence. When the cases were called to-day defendant's counsel asked for an adjournment, but the police opposed. The defence said that Innes had held a farewell function in the hotel, at which his father and others had been guests. An adjournment was granted till August 4.
