DUNEDIN, Friday. In tlxe Police Co'urt tliis afternoon, hefore Mr. Bundle, S.M., William Francis Crhoke, was charged that being a clerk in tlxe employ of the Grand Lodge of the Independent Order of Oddfellows, he committed a theft of divers sums of mdney amounting to £1720 13s 4d, the property of tlxe lodge. Chief Detective Young asked for a remand for a week, which was granted. Counsel for defence, applying for hail, said restitution had heen made to the lodge to the extent of £800. Accused, who is a married man with three children, pleaded guilty. Bail was allowed in self of £100, and one surety of £200.
