WELLINGTON, Thursday. The retirement is announeed of Mr W. Appleton, managing direetor of the Charles Haines Advertising Agency. Mr. Appleton says it is in conformity with the desire of his late partner, Mr| Haines, that the staff should gradually eontrol the business, and arrangements have been made for the staff to take over his interests on a liberal basis, his services being retained as a director in an advisofy capacity for a term of years. He pays a visit to England and the Continent next year.
