The M.C. team lost Sutcliffe, Holmes and Woolley within the first half hour for 19, but its position was retrieved by Jardins's splendid exhibition. He gave a remarkable display for 2~k houi'S. If the fast bowling of Amar Singh and Nissar had been supported by safer fielding, England would not have approached 200.
