NEW BRANCHES FORMED

WHAKATANE, Friday. The president of the Bay of Plenty Federation (Mrs O. E. Wettenhall, of Whakatane) last week held meetings at Omokoroa and Tauriko for the purpose of forming local institutions. At Omokoroa, a largely attended and enthusiastic meeting was held at the school. Mrs Kirk was in the chair. The following officers and committee were elected: President, Mrs Kirk; secretary, Mrs MeClinchie; treasurer, Mrs Anderson; vice-presidents, Mesdames Edmonson and Plummer; committee, Mesdames Duxfield, Griffiths, and "Hodgson. The president outlined the aims and objects and workings of the movement and it was decided to hold the first monthlj^ meeting on Saturday, 25th inst. at the school. At Tauriko, owing to the inclement weather, the attendance was small, and it was decided to hold a further meeting on Wednesday, June 29.
