STUN LAMBS

KANGAROOS' MASS RAID ON AUSTRALIAN PASTURES. SYDNEY, Sunday. Two thousand kangaroos have set up an empire on holdings of about 5000 acres, 18 miles from Koroit in Western Victoria. They are starving the sheep out, smashing through fences, and bowling over lambs with flying feet and swishing tails that stun them as effectively as a blackjack. It is unlawful to take the lives of the 'roos, yet they have become a definite menace. The Chief Secretary, Mr. Macfarlan, is being appealed to in an eft'ort to have the prohibition lifted. Western district graziers say they will be ruined if something is not done.
