ORNATE RITUAL
THE OPENING CEREMONY. At the Dublin pro-Cathedral, Cardinal Lauri, Papal Legate in the name of the Pope this afternoon declared open the thirty-first Eucharistic Congress, whieh is regarded as one of the greatest events in Ireland's history. At a given signal all the visiting cardinals took their places hehind the Legate and proceeded in procession to the High Altar. They were followed first by all the visiting Archbisbops and then by the members of the Dublin Metropolitan Ghapter. Following the ornate ritual of the opening prayers, addresses were delivered by the Archbishop of Dublin, Most Rev. Dr. Edward Byrne, and the Bisbop of Namur, and finally by the Cardinal Legate after whieh there was a declaration of homage and loyalty to the Pope.
