AUCKLAND, Thursday. A 40 per cent. reduction in wages for all classes of workers is contained in the proposal by eountry sawmillers for new award proposals. If given effect to they would reduce a labourer's wage from 15/- daily, less 10 per cent., to 9/-, and skilled workers from 18/- to 10/-. There is also a proposal to increase the working week from 47 to 48 hours.
