PORT OF DANZIG
(Press. Assn.-
FURTHER POSSIBILITIES OF INTERNATIONAL TROUBLE
— By Telegraph — Copyright).
Rec. June 16, 11 p.m. LONDON, Thursday. A new policital crisis has arisen I in connection with the free port of j Danzig, which was created under the Peace Treaty, and which Poland was recently reported to be making plans to seize. It appears that the Polish destro.ver Vichor, without permission used the harbour where there was already a flotilla of British destroyers. When the Danzig Government projtested, the Polish Gomniission in the [city replied that the Vichor had en[tered the port only to salute the [British warships. He added that the [ Polish Government did not recogInise the regulations of the Govern[ment of Danzig stipulating that Pollish vessels must have permission to Jenter the harbour. The Senate askled the vessel to depart that afterInoon, but the Vichor is still in the ■harbour. ■ It is expected that the Senate will Iprotest to the League of Nations.
