DOG RECOYERS PROPERTY FROM SHALLOW CREEK

— By Telc gratih — Copyclght)

AUCKLAND, Wednesday. A youth who was taking two dogs for a run in the Auckland Domaih was surprised when one, a six months' old terrier, darted into a shallow creek and returned with a woman's handbag. This was found to contain £3 and two bankboolcs with credits of hundreds of pounds. The police have ascertained that the bag was one stolen from an apartment house in the city on Saturday night. There was £5 in it, but the thief apparently missed the £3, which was in a separate compartment. The dog was accustomed to receiving sweets from a purse and to this is attributed its finding of the stolen article.
