BIRTHDAY PARTY
COMING OF AGE DANCE. Mr. and Mrs. C. Beamish were liost and hostess to a most enjoyahle . birthday dance given in honour of their daughter, Olive, at their home in Pretoria Street, during the week-end. The drawing-room was tastefully decorated with bowls of autumn flowers, and Mrs. Beamish received her guests wearing a frock of black georgette, while the guest of honour was in a dainty gown of shell-pink and blue ninon. The evening was spent in daneing interspersed with numerous novelty games. The feature of the dainty supper was a large birthday calce decorated in green and white, and proudly bear1 ing twenty-one lighted candles. Among the guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. J. Ruddy, Mrs. Ilarron, Miss H. Bfacken, Miss R. Cummings, Miss K. Chadwick (Whakatane), Miss S. Harle-Giles (Auckland), Miss M. Ruddy, Miss J. Sllis, Miss R. Harron, Miss R. Cannell, Miss M. Weal, Miss D. Harron, Miss E. Robinson, Miss N. Harron, Messrs. C. Lynch (Te Aroha), A. Harron, G. Beamish (Matamata), P. Gainsford, R. Norman, W. Beamish, R. Fairley, R. Henderson, J. Ansell, T. Griffiths, and C. Beamish, Jr.
