linking three nqrth island power stations

WELLINGTON, Tues. The Public Works Department is about to undertake works at Arapuni and other power stations in the north Island. The contract was let some time ago to supply material for steel towers to carry transmission lines
by bridging the gap bqtween Arapuni and Stratford. Three great generating stations of the North Island would be connected in one huge system. It is hoped to have the linlc completed by the winter of 1934, when Mangahao and Wai- ! karemoana will have reached capacity, and Arapuni will have a certain amount of spare power available.
