BRISBANE, Tuesday. The Treasurer, Mr. Barnes, commenting on the result of the elections in Queensland, said the new Labour Premier (Mr. W. Forgan Smith) whose promises on the platform had swayed a largc body of votes, would soon be brought face to face with the necessity of adhering to the Premiers' Plan. It would be impossible for him to raise loan money without the assistance of the Loan Council, The only alternative was increased taxation when the realities of the situation presented themselves.
