REFEREES STILL COMPLAIN OP UNPUNCTUALITY BY TEAMS

SATURDAY'S EIXTURES The refereea' delegate, Mr. L. Clark, reported at last night-'s meeting of the Rotorua Rugby Sub-union that senior teams were still taking the field late. The complaint was principally against the town team, Kahukura, who turned out ten minutes late in their match against Hikuwai, a team which had to travel a fair distance. The referees were reminded that they had power to take suitable action to prevent a further occurrence of this laxity, and were advised to use it. The case of a player regis^ered with one club and playing for other clubs was mentioned by a delegate, and it was deeided that this player be prohibited from taking the field for any other club but his own uhtil he obtains a transfer. The attention of club delegates was drawn to this case and they were advised that severe disciplinary measures would be taken in future if the rules were again broken. A gate of £10 6/- was taken at Arawa Park last Saturday. Mr. R. G. Webb asked that permission be granted the Old Boys team to play Takapuna Old Boys at Rotorua, on Labour Day. This was granted. As a player was injured last Saturday as a result of coming in contact with a goal post it was deeided that the posts be efficiently padded. . A motion moved by Mr. W. G. Harwood, that the union be empowered to select a ground for the main attraction of the day was carried. The draw for next Saturday is as follows: — Seniors Rotoiti v. Waikite, No. 1 ground, 2.45 p.m. Whaka v. Kahukura. No. 2 ernund.
