BASKETBALL

SATURDAY'S GAMES The Rotorua Basketball Association's competitions were advanced a further stage on Saturday when three games were played at the Government grounds. With the exception of the Kowhai versus Kiwi match, close contests were witnessed, only one point separating the teams in the High School Old Girls A versus Waratah fixture. A close game was also played between the High School Old Girls B team and Ngongotaha. Following are the detailed results: H.S.O.G. (B) 6 goals, Ngongotaha 3. H.S.O.G. (A) 6 goals, Waratah 5. Kowhai 31 goals, Kiwi 3. The first match in the Primary School competition this season was played at the Rotorua School on Saturday morning, when the Rotorua School team met and defeated Ngongotaha by a margin of eight goals. The game was keenly contesteS throughout, and was capably eontrolled by Miss H. Hillcoat. The final score was Rotorua 13 goals, Ngongotaha 5.
