"I regard it," he said, "as a vindication of the poliey of the Commonwealth Government toward Mr. Lang. Y/e received a mandate to take him to tarlc and force him to play his part in the work of rehabilitation. The verclict of the New South Wales poll may be regarded as an endorsement of the measures begun to compel him to keep pace with the other State Governments. The verdict is a happy oue for Australia and will do more than anything else to restore the confidence in New South Wales.
