WOMEN'S CLUB
DISTRUBTION OF CLOTHING TO NECESSITOUS CASES COMMITTEE MEETING The monthly committee meeting of the Rotorua Womens' Club was held on Tuesday, May 7. Mrs. I. M. Davidson presiding. Mrs. Campny (treasurer) reported that accounts amounting to £31/3/had been paid during May, leaving accounts still unpaid amounting to £20/11/7. Forty pounds owing to the club by.the Central Relief committee had not yet come to band. Mrs. Merriman (sewing convenor), reported tbat a splendid response had been received to the club's appeal for clothing during May, 36 parcels having been handed in. The number of garments made during the month totalled 38, mended and renovated 21; 108 garments were distributed as well as sox stockings, scarves, blankets etc. Other than clothing distributed, no benevolent help had been given during the month owing to lack of funds. ! The secretry stated that at different dates over 36 dozen rabbits had been received from Kaingaroa, and had been distributed among the relief workers by Mr. G. H. French; lOOlbs of honey had also been donated and distributed by Mr. Stewart of Eruera Street. It was decided again to conduet stalls at the Winter Show for the sale of cakes, sweets, preserves etc; also to undertake the managment of a tea-room for the convenience of visitors to the Show. The resignation of Mrs. T. Foster and Mrs. Tomlin as members of the Club were received with regret.
