fWO BRITISH MINISTERS TO CONFER WITH MR DE VALERA • ( £, MOUNTAIN TO MAHOMET" There has been a more encouraging development in the British and Irish Free State discussions as a result of an invitation extended by Mr. de Valera, suggesting that British Ministers Ishould .visit Dublin to- discuss the ; diffieulties in connectidn with. the ■Ottawa Conference. The invitation has been accepted by Mr. J. H. Thomas, Secretary of State for the Dominions, and Lord Hailsham, Secretary for r War, who have arrived in Dublin. LONDON, Tuesday. In the House of Commons, Mr. J. I. Thomas (Secretary of State for he Dominions), announced in reponse to Mr. de Valera's invitation iat he and Lord Hailsham (Seeretry of State for War), were going o Dublin to-night for a preliminary iscussion of the diffieulty in relation o the Ottawa negotiations. Mi\ de Valera has agreed to resume the disussions in London on Friday. The Sun says Mr. Thomas' anouneement is the sequel to hurried oundings regarding the prospects of ettling the Irish diffieulty before the >ttawa Conference. The Government ealised it would be an impossible ituation endangering the success of he conference if the Irish delegates ttended and were unable to negoiate with Britain. Mr. Thomas' and ,ord Hailsham's visit was arranged n the shortest notice.
