WOMAN'S TERRIBLE DEATH WHEN CROSSING A ROADWAY. SYDNEY, Saturday. Death in a horrifying form was witnessed by bystanders in Cleve-land-street, Redfern, last night. An unknown woman aged about 50 was struck down and dragged some distance by a motorist who eontinued on his way. The victim was making her way across the roadway when suddenly with roaring exhaust, the car approaehed.' Someone screamed, but before the woman could move out of the way she was knocked down and disappeared beneath the engine. She was dragged for several yards and her skull was badly fractured. Another car drew up two minutes later, and the driver, hearing what had happened, set out in pursuit, but failed to overtake the other car.
