PRIMARY SCHOOLS

The primary schools Rugby comoetitions commenced on Friday afternoon, when games were played between Whaka and the Rotorua A team and between Ngongotaha and the Convent School. The Whaka versus Rotorua A fixture was closely contested throughout, a good display marking the play of both teams. Neither side could cross their opponents line, and the result of the match, a pointless draw, was a fair indication of the play of each team. Mr. Riggs refereed. The second match, between Convent and Ngongotaha, was also of an interesting nature, Convent gaining the decision by 12 points to nil. Mr. Mason was the referee.
