STATEMENTS IN COURT.
KATE LUDWIG.
(To the Editor.) Sir, — I want to take very strong exception to the statements made during the prosecution against Hilma Ludwig, reported in your issue of May 24, wherein it was alleged that my two sisters and myself were lcnown as "Waihi Specials," "Faith, Hope and Charity" and "Morning, Noon and Night." It is very easy to kick a girl when she is down, but it is most unfair to state in open Court that we were known as "Waihi Specials" when not one of us have lived there or near Waihi since we were little children. Such statements are apt to bring us into public disrepute and the very fact that reference is made to Waihi when we have not been there for ten years must have reference to someone 'else other than ourselves. We would be grateful if you would publish this letter so that the facts above stated may be known to the public. — I am, etc.,
