WOMEN'S CLUB CIRCLE. The afternoon literary circle of the Rotorua Women's Club met at the home of Miss J. Pearce on Tuesday afternoon to read James Fagan's play "The Improper Duchess.!' Bowls of bronze chrysanthemums wene the floral decorations in the drawing room, where Miss Pearce received her guests wearing a frock of wine-red velvet. The readers taking part were: — Mrs. N. M. Keane, Mrs. G. Greene, Mrs. S. Wallis, Mrs. Walsh, Mrs. HH. Davis, Mrs. W. Campbell, Miss Mactier, Miss J. Pearce, Miss G. La Trobe Hill, Miss J. Hodgson. Others present were: Mrs. A. Brown and Mrs. 3". D. Davys." Evening Circle In keeping with the wintry aspect of the weather without, the evening literary qircje of the Rotoruh Women's Club chose for- theiy reading' at the home of Miss Margaret McKenzie, Earnest Raymond',s play, "The Berg." * Miss McKenzie received her guests in a dainty frock of black sprigged voile' and the drawing room was arranged with golden chrysanthemums.
