handsome silver cup presented by lady bledisloe FOR CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES WELLINGTON, Tuesday. It was announced at a general * meeting of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association that Lady Bledisloe had presented a handsome silver . cup for the New Zealand championship singles. . Mr. Denniston, chairman of the New Zealand management committee, said that the cup would take the place of the trophy now held together with lead and solder- The new cup would bear the names.. of all previous winners. The meeting adopted the annual report, at the same time ratifying the postponement of the junior hardcourt championship. The Wellington Association, in, a report, said it had been approached regarding the holding of the Hew Zealand championships, hut the question of dates had not yet been considered.
