dominion figures returns for first four months of year show big improvement EXPORTS UP, IMPORTS DOWN

WELLINGTON, Tuesday. - The figures for the overseas trade of New Zealand for the month of April, 1932, show that exports totalled* £4,957,535, and imports were valued at £1,760,689". For the coVresponding period last year the ex- • 1 ports were £2,746,191 and the iihports £2,0S0,f6"3. ^ VJ For the period of four months ended April 1932, exports -were valued at £16,457,131), and imports' at £7,6*09,972, compared with £14,902,609, and £9,576,982 for the correspondirig period last year. 4 * ' ' The values shown for exports are the declared f.o.b*. values in terms of New Zealand curency, while' the imports are valued on the basis of the values in exporting countries' plus ' 10 per cent. •
