Rec. May 24, 11.35 p.m. CALCUTTA, Tuesday. An expedition led by Herr Wilhelm Meiko, with seven Bavarian mountaineers and two members of the American Mountaineering Club, including Miss Elizabeth Knowiton, has left the base at Srinagar, Kashmir, in an attempt to seale Mt. Nanga Parbat, 26,620 feet, the highest peak of the Western Himalayas and the sixth highest in the world.
