LADIES' HOCKEY

EXECUTIVE MEETING THREE S'ELECTORS ELECTED FOR THE ENSUING SEASON. PROTST BY MOUREA UPHELD. The president, Miss K. Carnachan, presided at the usual weekly meeting of the Rotorua Ladies' Hockey Association held on Monday evening, a full attendance of delegates being present. A letter from a referee pointing out that it had come to his notice that accusations of favouring had ibeen levelled against him by certain teams, was read, and after regret at making the allegations had been expressed by the delegates representing the teams concerned, the ietter was left in the hands of the secretary for reply. As a result of a letter from the Marlborough Association requesting support in that association's application for the Dominion tournament this year, it was decided that as the South Island were entitled to the tourney this season and that time did not appear opportune to press the claims of Rotorua, the request be agreed to. Match to be Replayed. The Mourea delegate brought before the committee the question oi registration of players and entered •. protest on behalf of his club on the playing of three unregistered play1 ? by the Shamrock Club in last Saturday's match. He stated that it was not the desire of his club that the game be awarded to them, but or 1 tested with the intention of bringi.ig before the notice of allTeams the fact that players must be registered 24 hours before the matches. Opening the discussion, Mr. G Mitchell pointed out to those present that the rules of the Association had been drafted and adopted after considerable thought and with the desire of placing the control of the competitions on a satisfactory basis. It was admitted by the club that the plavev mentioned had been fielded, and in view of the fact that they were now registered as members of the Shamrock Club, he thought that the position could be rnet by ordering the replay of the match and moved au.o-'d-ingly. This arrangement being satisfactory to the Mourea Club, the motion was put and carried. The match is to be played on June 4, when all other matches will be nostponed in accordance with an arrangement made with the Rotorua Athletic -i.id Axemen's Club, who will be holding a carnival on that date. The secretary reported that lists . f players taking the field were not being handed to referees and it was decided that in future this proceedure must be strictly adhered to. Selectors Appointed. A discussion which occurred in con.ection with the appointment of selectors for the ensuing season resulted in the three-selector principle being favoured and Messrs. T. H. Davis, A. C. Watts and C. J. Casey were ele :t ed. The Robertson Cup matches to be played next Saturday are as follows: Shamrock v. Mamaku, at Mamaku. Taniwha v. Arawa, Government Grounds, 2.30 p.m. Whippets v. Hinemoa, Government Grounds, 2.30 p.m. Mourea, a hye.
