MAYOR OF NEW YORK HEADS MONSTER PARADE THROUGH CITY REVENUE BENEFITS STRESSED

Rec. May 15, 5.0 p.m. NEW YORK, Saturday. More ,than 25,000 persons headed by the Mayor, Mr. Walker marcbed in a parade which Iasted for 12 hours, bearing placards: "We want Beer" and recounting tbe benefits to the nation's finances, both private and public, that would be derived from it. There would be £100,000,000 in annual revenue from a Federal excise tax alone. Many organised crowds in the city, includsng Tammany Hall, participated. It is estimated that 1,000,000 persons lined the streets throughout the march.
