BOARD WANTS ASSISTANCB OF COUNCIL TRAFFIC INSPECTOR. NO PAYMENT MENTIONED. Surprise that 110 suggestion of ariy additional remuneration was made, was expressed by the Rotorua Borough Council on Thursday "evening, when a ■request was received from the Trans- • port Licensing Board that the council's inspeetor should be available for duties in connection with the admini- • stration of the Aet. A lengthy schedule of duties was appended. It was pointed out that the opera- . tion of the Act was depriving the "council of £275 per "annum in licensing fees. Considerable extra work would be placed upon the inspeetor and some contribution should be made by the board. It was decided to reply pointing out the position and the fact that the operation of the Act was depriving the council of a considerable amount in license fees.
