LEADER OF OPPbSITION APPOINTED BY GOVERNOR MR. STEVENS CALLED

Rec. May 13, 11 p.m. ' SYDNEY, Friday. After recalling Mr. Lang's commission, the Governor sent for the Leader of the Opposition, Mr. B. S. B. Stevens, and appointed him Prime Minister and requested him to form an emergency Cabinet to carry on until the dissolution. Mr. SteVens will thus go to the country as Premier, leader of the Government, and leader of the United Australia Party.
