NURSE CUT BY BROKEN GLASS

CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. A piece of hrick thrown at the last tram from St. Martin's this evening went through the windows on either side of the car in its flight knocking off the nat of Mr. W. Stewart, the Commissioner of Crown Lands, and scattering glass all over the inte-rior. Flying glass struck Nurse Hoare, of the Christchurch Hospital staff, who was also a passenger. Her face was cut slightly. The incident occurred in a dark part of Wilson's Road, St. Martin's and althongh a constable, who was riding with the motorman, made a search, he conld not find the- person who threw the missile. Probably it was thrown- from behind a hedge bordering the road.
