SALE AT CAMBRIDGE
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Hamilton, report on their tri-weekly stock sale held at Cambridge on Monday, as follows: — Cattle: — The yarding of cattle >-'ncluded a few pens of ox beef, an average numbeft of fat cows and a number of store cows. The demand for all classes was steady at values showing no variation from this week's Frankton quotations. Several pens of heifer calves were disposed of at satisfactory prices, while buyers for incalf heifers offered barely up to sellers' reserves. We quote: — Average quality fat bullocks, £8 10s to £3 19s; lighter, £2 15s to £3 10s; average fat cows, £2 15s to £3 10s; lighter, £2 7s 6d to £2 12s 6d; light, £1 15s to £ 5s; killable, ,£1 9s to £1 12s 6d; stores, 18s to £1 6s; boners, 9s to 15s; in-calf heifers, £4 10s to £5 15s; poorer, £3 to £4 5s; yearling heifers, £1 5s to £1 12s; poorer quality, 19s to £1 4s. Sheep : — Practically tbe wbole of a large entry of store lambs were sold under spirited competition. A large entry of ewes did not meet with so keen a demand but several pens found buyers. Fat sheep realised late rates. Fat lambs, 10s to 12s; lighter, 9s to 10s; rape lambs, 6s 7d to 8s 9d; good store lambs, 5s 5d to 6s 6d; fat ewes, 8s to 9s 9d. Pigs: — A small entry of mostly stores and weaners met with the usual demand. No change in prices is reported. We quote: — Light porkers, 19s; stores, 10s to 14s; slips, 5s to 7s 6d; weaners, 3s to 5s.
