PRICES AT FRANKTON

BEEF AGAIN WEAK
HAMILTON, Tuesday. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd. report having held their usual weekly stock sale at Frankton to-day as under: Fat sheep: A large yarding of extra heavy wethers sold at up to late rates. Ordinary quality average weight wethers and average fat ewes were lower than last week. The following priees were obtained: Good quality prime fat ewes 8/5, ordinary fat ewes 5/6 to 6/9, fat wethers 13/6 to 14/-, fat lambs 9/6 to 14/6, store sheep and store lambs 8/- to 7/2; store ewes 3/6. Fat cattle: A large yarding came f orward. Prices were again very weak and late rates were hardly obtaiqed. We sold light fat steers up to £4 10/-, choice young cows and heifers up to £4 5/-, good young cows and heifers £2 10/- to £2 16/-, inferior fat cows 25/- to 35/-, vealers 17/- to 21/-. Store cattle: There was a large yarding which sold at late rates. Three-year Shorthorn steers brought 35/-, yearling Polled Angus steers and heifers 20/-, Hereford m.s. calves 11/- to 10/-, bulls 30/-, store and boner cows 10/- to 18/-, dairy heifer calves and springing to calve £5 15/to £3 5/-, dairy cows £4 15/- to £4. Pigs: A small yarding of fat pigs was received whilst stores came forward in large numbers. We sold porkers at £1 3/- to £1 7/-, lighter ditto. 18/- to 21/-, choppers £1 11/- to £2 1/-, best stores 10/- to 13/6, slips 7/- to 9/-, best weaners 5/- to 6/6, others 4/- to 5/-.
