WELLINGTON, Tuesday., Three women who were walking idown Adelaide Road shortly after three o'clock, this, morning, noticed that the appearanc'e of a man in front of them coincided with the description published last night of William Alexander Crossan, who escaped from Mount Cook police station yesterday morning. They conveyed their suspi.cions to Constable Cave, who arrested Crossan in the vicinity of the Basin Reserve. Crossan aflpeared in Court this morning charged with breaking and entering the residenee of Dr. Ewart, being in possession by night of housebreaking instruments, and being an incorrigible rogue in that he escaped from custody. . A remand was granted to May 11.
