HONOURS DIVIDED IN TWO STATE PRIMARY ELECTIONS AL. SMITH'S POSITION BETTER

Rec. April 27, 8.0 p.m. NEW YORK, Tuesday. Incomplete returns of Tuesday's primary elections in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania indicate that Mr. Franklin Roosevelt and Mr. alSmith divided the honours, Mr. Roosevelt apparently winping a substantial majority amongst Pennsylvania's 76 nominated presidential delegates, while Mr. Smith made a clean sweep of the 36 Massachusetts delegates, Counting previous electorates Mr, Roosevelt retains a commanding lead on pledged delegates. However, his decisive defeat in Massachusetts is a severe blow to his prestige.
