HAMILTON, Tuesday. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited report having held their usual weekly stoclc sale at Frankton yards on Tuesday as under: — Fat Sheep: There was a fair yarding of fat sheep, which sold at fully late rates. Prime fat wethers bfought 14s to 16s lld for extra choice medium weight fat wethers 12s 6d to 13s 6d, prime fat ewes from 8s to 10s, light fat ewes 5s 6d to 7s, fat lambs 10s 6d to 14s, light fat lambs 8s to 9s 6d.
Cattle: Fat steers sold at fully late rates. Fat cows brought £3. 10s to £4, light fat cows 30s to £2, bonfer cows lOs to 13s, small yearling Jersey heifers £1. Pigs: A small yafding of both fat and store pigs came forward and ' baconers sold on a par with late rates, whilst stores sold well in advance of last week's quotations. We sold a line of 18 baconers on behalf of Mr R. E. Farrow, of Waitoa, which averaged £2 2s 3d. Best baconers brought £2 to £2 4s, medimn baconers £1 17s to £1 19s, light bhconers £1 12s to £1 16s, best porkefs £1 2s tq £1 6s, medium porkers 18s to £1 is, .light and unfinished porkers 12s to 16s, choppers £1 8s to £1 16s, best stores 11s 6d to 13s, slips 6s to 8s 6d, _ best weaners 4s 6d to 6s, small weaners 4s, sows in pig £2. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as f ollows : — Cattle: Ox beef, of which about the usual number was yarded, met with fairly brisk competitnon and late rate§ were fully maintained. Good quality cow beef met with an improved market and a slight increase is repofted, while an average number of medium quality were in steady demand. The entry included 19 cattle, mostly heifers, ex Morrinsville which were sold at an average price of £4 5 s. Store cattle met with the usual demand. Good quality ox beef brought £6 4s to £6 17s 6d, average quality do. £4 12s to £5 15s, light db. £4 to £4 10s, prime fat heifer beef £4 11s to £5 4s, average fat cows £3 10s lo £4 10s, lighter quality do. £2 15s to £3 7s 6d, light do. £2 7s 6d to £2 15s, killable £1 14s to £2 5a, stores 18s to £1 4s, boners 15s to 18s, fair conditioned vealers £1 8s to £1 13s, other s 16 s to £1 4s, dairy cows £5 to £7 5s. Sheep : The demand for fat sheep of all classes was easier than at last week's sale, the prices realised for fat ewes and wethers receding further than the lamb priceS. Fat wethers brought 13s ld to 14s ld, lighter do. 10s 6d to 12s, fat ewes 7s to 8s 6d, lighter do. 6s to 7s, 2-tooth ewes and wethers 14s 8d, good fat lambs 12s tq 14s 6d, average quality lambs 10s to 12s ld, lighter do. 9s 6d to 10s, light 9s to 9s 6d. Pigs: There was an average yarding of fat pigs and a small yarding of stores. Fat pigs Were firm at late rates, while store pigs advanced in price owing to the short yarding. Heavy baconers brought £l 18s to £2 2s, medium do. £1 12s to £1 16s, light baconers £1 8s to £1 11s, heavy porkers £1 4s to £1 7s, medium do. £1 to £1 2s, light do. 15s to 18s, large stores 12s to 14s 6d, medium db. 8s to 11s, slips 5s to 7s 6d, weaners 3s to 5s.
The Farmers Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd. report: — Cattle. An average yarding of ox beef with a smaller yarding of cow beef than at previous saies. Prices for ox beef remained unchanged, while better quality cows showed a slight increase. Medium quality, however, remained at late quotations. Sheep: A slightly heavier yarding than last week came forward and although the market opened quietly, prices improved as the sale progressed but quotations remain on a par with last week's rates, except for lambs, which eased. Pigs: There was a smaller yarding of fat pigs and an extra small yarding of stores and weaners. values were on a par with last week's prices. . Quotations: Sheep': Prime fat wethers 15s to 15s 6d, medium 13s to 14s 6d, fat maiden ewes 12s to 13s 2d, prime fat ewes 8s to 9s 8d, medium fat ewes 6s to 7s 2d. Cattle: Light fat steers £4 2s 6d to £4 10s, runners £2 10s to £2 15s; vealers 5s to 10s, prime medium heifers £3 18s to £4 10s, heavy fat cows £3 13s to £4 2s, medium £2 10s to £3, light 21s 6d to 35s, killable 20s to 25s, boners 5s to 15s, bulls 17s 6d to £2 10s. Pigs: Choppers 26s to 37s, heavy baconers £2 ls to £2 3s, medium 85s to 39s, heavy porkers 23s to 26s, medium 20s to 22s, stores 9s to 11s 6d, slips 5s 6d to 7s 6d, weaners 3s 6d to 5s, Tamworth boars 37s 6d to £2, smaller 32s 6d io 35s, Tamworth sows up to 30s.
