PRICES AT FRANKTON

HAMILTON, Tuesday. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limitecl, report on their weekly Frankton stock sale held to-day as follows: Cattle : For a small yarding of good quality ox beef there was a good market at values showing an appreciable advance on late rates. Cow beef, of which about the usual number were yarded, were also in keen demand and prices* show an inmovinsr tendency. There was little /ariation in store cow. values. We -note : Prime fat bullocks, £5 11 s \o £6 17s; fat bullocks, £4 18s to £5 10s: lighter quality, £4 11s to £4 15s; Tght, £3 10s to £4; prime fat heifer h0of, £4 2s to £4 8s; good fat cows £3 16s to £4 7s; average quality, £3 •-.o £3 10s; lighter. £2 10s to £2 17s >d ; light, £2 to £2 10s; killable.^ £1 14s to £2: stores, 18s to £1 9s; light quality vealei-s, 12s 6d to 15s. Sheen: The pric.es realised for an average entry of fat ewes and wetners were about on a par with last week's rates. Lambs, which were ofFered in lare-e numbers, met with ipirited competition and a further inarease was obtained. Prime wethers made 14s to 14s 7d; average, 12s 4d to 13s 6d; lighter, 11s 5d to 12s 2d; fat ewes, 6s to 8s; lighter, to 5s 9d, nrime fat lambs, 14s 6d to 17s; average oualitv, 11s 6d to 13s 9d; lighter 9a 6d to 11s; fat hoggets, 12s ld to 13s lld. Pigs: There was an average yarding of fat and store ries. Prices for fat rigs were firm at the commence">Tont of the sale, but eased towards the end. Prices for store pi°-s rema'ned firm at late rates. Heavy baconers brought, 39s to £2 3s; medium baconers, 32s to 37s; hght baconers, 28s to 31s; heavy porkers, 24s to 27s; light porkers, 15s to 18s; large stores. 8s to 10sv; slips, 5s to 7s; weaners, 2s 6d to 4s.
