THE WEATHER
The Government meteorologist issued the following weather report and forecast last night:—General Situation: An anticyclone still covers New Zealand, ' but has been gradually losing intensity, and a rather vigorous depression is now looated over south-eastern Australia. Forecast: Winds, light a'nd variable at first, but northerlies soon prevailing and later freshening in and south of Cook Strait. Weather: Fine and mild generally, Yiut haze and clouds increasing ar.d later conditions becomTng unsettled in the western and far southern districts; some morning fogs probable. FoIIowirfg are the barometer, rnaximum and mi'nimum thermometter and rainfall readings reteorded at the Gov^ernrnebt O.feservation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Department, for the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday: — Barometer .... 30.214ins.
