"RIVER" STATION
When stepping from the carriage of a race train from Te Kumi which had stopped at the southern end of Otorohanga, part of it being on the bridge over the Waipa River, an elderly Chinese, Jimmie Jim, fell a distance of over 20 feet into the river. He was promptly rescued and was uninjured. He was under the impression that the train had stopped at the station platform.
