AUCKLAND, Friday. One man was killed and another injured seriously when a light motor lorry in which they were riding collided with the back of a heavy motor truck outside of the Freeman's Bay Police Station. The victims were James Naughton, 37 years, married, of College Hill and Alfred Best, 33 years, single of Cook Street, head injuries, whose condition is serious: The motor truck with which the lorry collided was being used for conveying special constables and was waiting outside the Freeman's Bay Police Station.
