MILITARY ASSIST

1000 SPECIALS ENROLLED AUCKLAND, Friday. Following the appeal of the Mayor (Mr. G. W. Hutchison) two suadrons of the Waikato Mounted Rifles, who were in camp at Cambridge, entrained for Auckland to assist in police duties. The men changed their uniforms for civilian garb. Over 1000 special constables were enrolled in the city to-day.
