COMING OF AGE
Miss i. green'S birthday party Mr. and Mrs. b. M. Green entertained a number of yourig friends at their home on Friday evening last to celebrate the oecasibn of the coming of age of their daughter Irene. Mrs. Green receiVed her guests! wearing a black satin frock with lace flouricing, wh'ile Miss Green WOte sky blue satin with silk spotted net of the samfe shade. Charming decorations were carried out .witii Coloured streamers and balloons, and vases of sweet peas, asparagus sprays and chrysanthemums. Duririg the evening, which was chiefly devoted to dancing and games, musicai, vocal and elocutionary items were also given, and were much appreciated. Winners of the competitions were Miss T. Johnson, Mr. Gos-% ling, Mr. b. Rariderson and Mr. Ludgate. A delightful supper was served in the dining room, where the cake Was cut and toasts suitable to the oecasion honoured. The evening was brought to a close at a late hour, with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne." Among those present were: — Misses Gardiner (Drury), M. Locke, L. Harris, M. Dannefaerd, L. Dannefaerd, T. Johnson, J. Bailey, j. Hodgson, Marie Green and Messrs. Ludgate, Buchan, Sutherland, Miller, Randerson, Gosling, MeNaughton, Egan, P. Gainsford and Green, jun.
