Several men were irijured, .this afternoon when the police drew their batons to quell a distufbance during a parade of fcitizens who were carfying a resolution to lay before the Legislative Assembly of Newfoundland. The crowd sought to present a petition before the House, protesting against the GoYefhment's failure to hold a Parliamentary inquiry into charges tbat the minutds 6f the executive Council had been falsiffed. As the procession reached thei steps of Parliament Buildings, bne sectibh hbcame unfuly and defied the police. Under order s the police drew their batons and laid about them lusfily.
