The Government meteorologist issuad fhe following weather report and forecast last night: — General Situation: A'n anticyclone is stiil centered over southern New Zealand. Relatively low pressure extends across the northern Tasman sea, vvhile a cyclone is now located off the New South Wples coast. _ Forecast: Winds, south-easterly to north-easterly, and still moderate to strong. Weathe.r: Still unsettied north of Kawhia and Castlepoint, with rain in places; eisewhere mainiy fair to fine. Coo! temperatures in the South island, with iniand frosts and some morning fogs. Following are the barometer, maximunj and mhumum thermometer and rainfall readings recorded at the Governme.nt Obeervation Station by the Rotorua Tourist Depdrtment,,.fof the 24 hours ended at 9.30 a.m. yesterday:— Barometer 30.185ins. i Thermometer (max.) 58.4deg, Thermometer (min. on grass) 52.0deg. Rainfall 1.01ins.
