FINANCIAL POSITION OF NEW ZEALAND BODY SMALL LOSS LAST YEAR

WELLINGTON, Thutsday. The annual report of the New'Zealand Rugby Union says the workirig expenses for the year show an excess of expenditure over receipts of £56 1/7. It points out that there are a number of ite-ms not likely to recur. ' a donation of £550 Was given to the Hawke's Bay relief fund and a gi'ant to tho Hawke's Bay Rughy Union of £492 0/10 for the rehabilitation of grounds. The Australian tour resulted m^ a profit of £952 16/2, and the North South game £621 14/8. The Prince of Wales Cup resulted in a lqssTof £335 6/9, and the tour qf the Maqri team for the Seddon Shield eost the Union £284 16/7. Loans were grantqd to the following unions during the year Auckland £3,500, in addition- to aq existing loan of £1,600; Otago £2500, Wanganui £50, part of £1900 qattctioned and in addition tq aq existing loan of £600 ; Canterbury £4000, in addition to an existing loan qf £1000; West Coast,.£31Q0; Manawata £1500; Southland, £500; Bush Districts, £250 Loans wer.e apprqved, but nof finalise'd, to tbe f ollqwing Wiul'ard|>a £2500; King Country £600, North Auckland £1500, Golden Bay-Motu-eka £600.
